The Mastermind behind the most active social media on the Internet Platform, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, who doesn’t require any introduction, is an American Computer Programmer and Internet Entrepreneur. 

A co-founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg currently operates as a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Facebook.

He is the fifth richest Person globally, with a net worth of US $73.1 billion estimated.

The alma mater of Mark Zuckerberg, Harvard University, is also where he established Facebook with his roommates.

He launched Facebook on February 4 2004, with his college mates and fellow students of University.

The expansion of Facebook made it rapidly spread among one billion users till 2012.

Mark Zuckerberg was occupied in legal matters during that time as his college mates claimed that he hadn’t distributed the share to all of them while developing Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg was named famously in Times Magazine among 100 wealthiest and most influential people since 2010.

It is a part of the Person of the Year award. He became famous in December 2016 and ranked 10th on Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful people.

While pursuing Psychology and Computer Science from Harvard University, Zuckerberg began to explore software development.

He, with his college mates – Chris Hughes, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, and Dustin Moskovitz used to work on various projects and tried to launch some software.

 He was blamed for having stolen his seniors’ plan to launch the social networking site named ‘The Harvard Connection’. Mark Zuckerberg had to give the penalty in the form of a share from Facebook, 300 million dollars to all the three seniors.

As the competition began, Mark Zuckerberg quit his college and started working on his site in his new office in Palo Alto, California.

He introduced ‘Wirehog’ with his friends in 2004, which was a file-sharing program to compete with his fellow Harvard student.

In 2005, a company dealing in growth equities, “Accel Partners”, funded Facebook with 12.7 million dollars.

 Later after two years, Mark launched the Facebook Platform so that the software developers could use Facebook to build other applications.

The next year, the amazing software programmer introduced two new services within the Facebook platform, named ‘Beacon’ and ‘Connect’.

Initially, Facebook was created only for the “Harvard students”, but later it was decided to distribute this to various educational institutes such as Yale, Dartmouth, Stanford and Columbia.

Mark Zuckerberg introduced a new project in 2013, which was called “internet.org”. 

This project collaborated with cell phone firms: Qualcomm, Samsung, Opera Software, Ericsson, Microsoft, MediaTek and Reliance. some of tjhe aim of the project was to provide internet facilities to the various developing countries.

That was the year this software developer became the CEO and Chairman of the company “Facebook INC.”
