There are several developing nations in Africa, and students from these nations typically lack the financial resources to pay for their professional educations. As a result, they are unable to study abroad or at home due to their financial difficulties.

Many scholarships are available to students from African nations, and universities, governments, privately held businesses, not-for-profit organizations, the commonwealth, etc. serve as their sponsors.

List of 2023 Fully Funded Scholarships for African Students

Kenyan University of Taita Taveta Scholarships:

The Taita Taveta University’s CEMEREM scholarship program awards deserving master’s students with partially and fully supported scholarships. These applicants must be MSc students. in any one of the following subjects:

  • Engineering the Environment
  • Managing Natural Resources

Students from a few different nationalities may apply. Only citizens of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Sudan, and Rwanda may apply.

Programs for Kakamega Scholarships:

The county government of Kenya is funding this scholarship program. Its goal is to support impoverished students who desire to pursue bachelor’s degrees in Kenya. The only people who may apply for this scholarship are Kenyan citizens. Candidates must be enrolled in one of the following disciplines of study:

  • Medicine
  • Agriculture
  • ICT

The University of Ghana’s fellowship:

The UG-Tullow Tertiary Scholarship program at the University of Ghana offers undergraduate and graduate scholarships. This scholarship program covers all costs, including accommodation, healthcare, and tuition for the awardees. Additionally, it provides students with a monthly stipend to cover living expenses as well as money to buy a laptop for academic use. At the master’s level, the fellowship is offered for one year, and at the bachelor’s level, it is offered for four years. The scholarship must be needed financially by the applicants. Only Ghanaian students may apply.

Fellowships for doctoral study offered by the Ugandan University of Makerere

The University of Makerere in Uganda has two openings for Ph.D. candidates. There is a research job open at the department of development studies that is related to Certifications of Citizenship in Africa (CERTIZENS). African students from all regions of the continent are eligible to apply. The fellowship is completely supported, and the recipients are eligible for a number of perks, including the waiver of tuition fees, housing benefits, health insurance, help for research expenses, and payment for travel expenses spent for research-related conferences and workshops.

The fellowship may be worth up to 4,015,000 UGX, or about $11,000. (USD). A laptop will also be given to each beneficiary.

Scholarships for the Mediterranean School of Management in Tunisia:

A tuition price waiver of up to 30% is available through the Diversity Scholarship program at the Mediterranean School of Management in Tunisia. Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels of study are eligible to apply as long as they are citizens of an emerging or developing country (including countries of Africa). Candidates should have a strong academic history. Also, they must provide a fresh resume. The MBA program at the university is its premier offering.

American University of Cairo fellowships:

Postgraduate scholarships are available from the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at the American University of Cairo. Under the auspices of this scholarship program, the students will work with an accomplished academic member to perform first-hand research. This fellowship is related to all subject areas. It provides a three-credit per semester tuition price waiver. Funding is available for recipients who are enrolled in English language lessons or other prerequisite courses. Students from abroad, particularly those from Africa, as well as locals may apply.

Awards from the American Talented Foundation

Several financial aid opportunities are offered by the African University in Ghana (Africa). The American Talented Foundation is funding them. Undergraduate students may apply as long as they are citizens of an African nation. Many internationally renowned bachelor’s programs and short courses are available from the African University in Ghana. The scholarship’s value of 5,000 GBP is sufficient to pay for the beneficiaries’ tuition and living costs.

Funding from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

This award, which is research-based, will be used to study how waste materials can be turned into electricity. Students from Africa who are enrolled at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology may apply for this scholarship. The waiver of all tuition fees will be offered to the recipients. Scholarships for National Health Research:

Students from Zambia are the only ones who can apply for the National Health Research scholarships. Any of the healthcare fields must be the subject of a research project for students. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or have similar research experience in the field of healthcare. This scholarship program will pay for their travel and personal expenses.
