Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring adherence to specific dietary requirements and individual preferences.
- Handle and store food items safely and in accordance with food hygiene standards.
- Serving Meals:
- Support in serving meals to residents, providing a friendly and professional service.
- Assist residents with their dining needs, including cutting food or pouring beverages if required.
- Dining Room Set-up:
- Prepare and set up the dining area for meal services, ensuring it is clean, welcoming, and appropriately arranged.
- Cleaning and Dishwashing:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and equipment cleaning.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Stock Management:
- Monitor and replenish food and beverage stock as needed, and report any shortages to the catering manager.
- Health and Safety:
- Comply with food safety regulations and health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Report any hazards or incidents to the catering manager promptly.
- Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the catering team and other staff members to ensure efficient meal service and resolve any issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory. Training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage meal services efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to provide a positive dining experience to residents.
