Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting.
- Support individuals with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Assist in the delivery of medication and observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions, promoting their well-being and independence.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding, taking into account any dietary requirements or restrictions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports.
- Collaborate with other care team members to ensure a coordinated approach to resident care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control protocols at all times.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Care Assistant or similar role is preferred, although training will be provided to suitable candidates.
- Understanding and empathy for the needs of elderly or vulnerable individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in residents’ lives.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for record-keeping purposes.
