Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food, following established recipes and guidelines.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Wash, peel, and chop ingredients as required.
  • Set up serving areas and ensure they are adequately stocked with food, beverages, and utensils.
  • Serve food to customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food, chemicals, and cleaning supplies.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment.
  • Adhere to portion control and food waste management guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a catering or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks, such as lifting heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to changing demands.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for record-keeping purposes.
