Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on water infrastructure, including pipelines, valves, meters, and other related equipment.
  2. Conduct water quality testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Monitor and record water consumption and flow rates, identifying any anomalies or potential issues.
  4. Investigate and respond to customer complaints and concerns related to water supply or quality.
  5. Carry out meter installations, replacements, and repairs as required.
  6. Conduct leak detection surveys and implement appropriate measures to minimize water losses.
  7. Respond to emergency call-outs and perform repairs promptly to restore water services.
  8. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as local authorities and contractors, to coordinate water-related activities.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and water testing results.
  10. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe working practices.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a Water Technician or in a similar role within the water industry is preferred.
  2. Knowledge of water systems, including pipelines, valves, meters, and treatment processes.
  3. Understanding of water quality standards and testing procedures.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve water-related issues.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document information.
  6. Proficient in using water-related equipment, tools, and technology.
  7. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  8. Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting and operating equipment.
  9. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings, depending on operational requirements.
  10. A responsible and reliable work ethic, with a commitment to delivering high-quality water services.
