Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Ensure kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas are clean and sanitized at all times, following established health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and cleaning vegetables, as directed by the catering team.
• Support the kitchen team in setting up dining areas and serving meals to residents, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
• Handle and store food items appropriately, adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining proper storage conditions.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with established guidelines, maintaining cleanliness in waste storage areas.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management, ensuring supplies are readily available and properly stored.
• Collaborate with the catering team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
• Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Domestic or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Genuine passion for providing excellent service and care to older adults.
