Responsibilities:

1. Install, assemble, and set up new equipment and machinery according to manufacturer guidelines and specifications.
2. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of equipment, such as refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, ovens, freezers, and other machinery.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and machinery, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as motors, switches, belts, bearings, and sensors.
5. Follow safety protocols and regulations when handling equipment and machinery, ensuring personal and team safety.
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, and parts used.
7. Collaborate with external suppliers and contractors for specialized repairs and parts sourcing, ensuring timely and quality service.
8. Coordinate with store management and other departments to prioritize equipment maintenance and repair tasks.
9. Monitor and order spare parts and consumables to maintain inventory levels and minimize downtime.
10. Provide technical guidance and support to store staff regarding equipment usage, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.
11. Stay updated on technological advancements, industry best practices, and equipment operating manuals.
12. Conduct regular training sessions for store staff on equipment operation and safety guidelines.
13. Assist in the selection and procurement of new equipment and machinery, considering quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
14. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the equipment storage areas and workshop.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or technical certification in a relevant field, such as Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC.
2. Proven experience as an Equipment/Machinery Technician or in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
3. Strong technical knowledge of various equipment and machinery used in a retail setting, such as refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, ovens, freezers, and other common store equipment.
4. Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems, including wiring, motors, belts, bearings, and sensors.
5. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
6. Excellent understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to equipment handling and maintenance.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
11. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
12. Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required.
13. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to equipment maintenance activities.
14. Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
