Responsibilities:

1. Research and analyze fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands.
2. Develop design concepts and sketches for clothing and accessories based on the identified trends.
3. Collaborate with the buying team to determine the target audience, price points, and product requirements.
4. Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production, including measurements, materials, and construction methods.
5. Select suitable fabrics, trims, and embellishments for each design, considering quality, aesthetics, and cost.
6. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the accurate execution of design specifications.
7. Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit and appearance of garments.
8. Stay updated on the latest fashion trends, techniques, and technologies through continuous research and attending industry events.
9. Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to create attractive displays and product presentations.
10. Ensure adherence to quality standards and monitor production processes to maintain consistency and timely delivery.
11. Maintain accurate records of design specifications, materials, and production details.
12. Assist in the selection of ready-made fashion items for the store’s inventory, ensuring alignment with the brand’s image and target market.
13. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns related to fashion products.
14. Work closely with the store team to provide guidance and support in product knowledge and customer service.

Requirements:

1. Degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a fashion designer or in a similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
3. Strong creativity and ability to generate unique and appealing design concepts.
4. Proficiency in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
5. Excellent sketching and illustration skills.
6. Knowledge of garment construction, pattern-making, and sewing techniques.
7. Familiarity with fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
8. Ability to interpret fashion trends and adapt them to marketable designs.
9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design specifications.
10. Good communication and presentation skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
13. Knowledge of the Dubai fashion market and consumer preferences is a plus.
14. Portfolio showcasing previous design work is required.
