Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers and provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the checkout counter.
2. Scan and process items accurately and efficiently using the cash register or scanning system.
3. Ensure correct pricing and proper handling of discounts, promotions, and coupons.
4. Accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.
5. Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accurate balances.
6. Maintain a high level of accuracy when handling cash transactions and provide correct change to customers.
7. Respond to customer inquiries, resolve any issues, and provide assistance when needed.
8. Bag and pack purchased items carefully to prevent damage during transportation.
9. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning conveyor belts, payment terminals, and counters.
10. Collaborate with the store team to ensure smooth operations and resolve any customer concerns.
11. Follow all cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.
12. Adhere to security and safety measures to protect customer payments and store assets.
13. Stay updated on product knowledge, promotions, and store policies to provide accurate information to customers.
14. Assist in other store activities, such as stocking shelves or organizing displays, when necessary.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a retail environment.
3. Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
4. Proficiency in operating electronic cash registers and other related equipment.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
7. Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering excellent service.
9. Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
10. Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
