As a General Farm Worker, you will support various agricultural activities on farms, contributing to the overall operation and productivity. Responsibilities:
- Assist with general farm tasks, such as planting, harvesting, weeding, and irrigation.
- Operate farm machinery and equipment, ensuring safe and proper usage.
- Care for livestock, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health.
- Maintain farm buildings, fences, and other infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment.
- Participate in crop and livestock handling, including sorting, weighing, and packaging.
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Carry out pest and weed control measures as directed.
- Support in the maintenance of farm records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other farm workers and supervisors to accomplish daily tasks.
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and farm priorities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in farming, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with farm machinery and equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy loads.
- Knowledge of crop and livestock handling techniques.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn new tasks.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons.
- Valid driver’s license is a plus.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
