Position Overview:

As a Retail Supervisor at Compass Group, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of our retail outlets located in the UK. You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, managing a team of retail associates, and maintaining efficient store operations. Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of retail associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee development.
2. Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example and provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all customers have a positive shopping experience. Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and handle any issues that may arise.
3. Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive sales and meet or exceed sales targets by motivating and coaching the team. Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure timely restocking and minimize stock discrepancies.
5. Visual Merchandising: Work closely with the visual merchandising team to maintain attractive and well-organized displays that enhance the customer experience and promote sales. Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and promotions.
6. Cash Handling and Financial Accountability: Manage cash registers, conduct cash reconciliations, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed. Monitor and control cash variances and maintain accurate records.
7. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Conduct regular store inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards.
8. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales performance, inventory management, and other relevant operational activities. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
9. Staff Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak business hours and minimize overtime costs. Adjust staffing levels as necessary based on business needs.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Proactively contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance store performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a supervisory role in a retail or hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of retail operations, including sales techniques, inventory management, and cash handling.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other relevant retail software.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the store’s operating hours.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
