As a Floor Fitter, you will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials in commercial and residential properties. Responsibilities:

• Install a variety of flooring materials, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, and tile, based on client requirements and specifications.
• Measure and prepare the work area, ensuring accurate dimensions and proper surface preparation for flooring installation.
• Handle and transport flooring materials safely, ensuring their protection from damage or distortion.
• Use appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques to cut, fit, and secure flooring materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and precision.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Consult with clients to understand their flooring needs, offering advice on suitable materials, patterns, and designs.
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of installed flooring, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
• Repair or replace damaged or worn flooring as necessary, matching existing materials and patterns when required.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters or electricians, to ensure proper integration of flooring with other elements of the project.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and installation techniques, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Floor Fitter, with a strong portfolio of successful flooring installations.
• In-depth knowledge of different flooring materials, their characteristics, and installation methods.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment specific to flooring installation, such as cutting tools, adhesives, and leveling devices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices in the construction industry.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and team members effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in flooring installation would be advantageous.
• Valid work permit or right to work in the United Kingdom.
