We are currently seeking a Warehouse Forklift Driver to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a Warehouse Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and storage of goods within the warehouse, utilizing forklifts and other equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently move goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using forklifts, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts, including proper use of seat belts, horns, and other safety features.
- Transport goods to designated storage areas or production lines, ensuring accurate placement and organization.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and verifying incoming goods, comparing them to the accompanying documentation.
- Prepare goods for shipment by inspecting and selecting appropriate packaging materials and labeling containers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by recording goods movements and reporting discrepancies or shortages.
- Perform regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the safe handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including removing debris, sweeping floors, and maintaining clear aisles and walkways.
- Report any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality requirements.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift driving certification or license is essential.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of different forklift types and their specific handling requirements.
- Ability to safely maneuver forklifts in tight spaces and around obstacles.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to forklift operations.
