Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Catering Assistant in the United Kingdom. The Catering Assistant will support our catering operations by assisting with food preparation, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, assembling sandwiches, and portioning meals.
- Set up serving areas, ensuring that counters, tables, and buffet stations are clean and well-stocked.
- Serve food and beverages to customers promptly and courteously, adhering to portion control guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures, including storage, labeling, and temperature control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and accommodating special requests.
- Assist with cashier duties, handling payments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with the catering team to support the smooth flow of operations during busy periods.
- Assist with cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing dining areas.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a catering, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on business needs.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Basic numeracy skills to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, following instructions and procedures.
- Food safety and hygiene certifications are desirable, but training can be provided.
