Job Summary
Greggs PLC, a renowned bakery chain, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Shop Supervisor. As a Shop Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining the high standards of our brand. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and support a team of shop employees, while also ensuring efficient shop performance and a positive customer experience. Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of shop employees, including training, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a welcoming and friendly shop environment
- Monitor and maintain shop operations, including stock levels, product quality, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards
- Supervise and participate in the preparation and serving of food and beverages, ensuring compliance with established recipes and quality standards
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including cash register operations, reconciliations, and cash security measures
- Collaborate with the shop manager and assistant manager to achieve shop targets, sales goals, and profitability objectives
- Assist in the implementation of promotional activities and product displays to drive customer engagement and sales
- Conduct regular shop audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Foster a positive and productive working environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a culture of continuous improvement
- Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner, seeking appropriate resolutions
- Assist with staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient utilization of resources
- Stay updated on product knowledge, promotions, and company updates to provide accurate information to customers and employees
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a customer service or retail environment is preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and employees
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, cash handling procedures, and health and safety standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage time effectively
- Basic numerical and cash handling skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards
- Ability to handle pressure and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Eligibility to work in the UK
