Job Summary:

Asda, one of the leading supermarket chains in the UK, is seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Security Guards. As a Security Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our store, customers, and employees. Your strong observation skills, attention to detail, and ability to respond to incidents will contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, monitoring for suspicious activity or behavior.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any signs of security breaches or emergencies.
• Provide a visible security presence, deterring potential thefts or incidents.
• Respond to and investigate incidents, such as thefts, disturbances, or accidents, following company protocols.
• Collaborate with store management and employees to address security concerns and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor and control access to the store, ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
• Conduct bag checks as required, following proper procedures and respecting customer privacy.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, observations, and any actions taken.
• Provide assistance and guidance to customers and employees regarding security-related matters.
• Stay updated on security procedures, emergency protocols, and safety regulations.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
• Collaborate with external authorities, such as the police or emergency services, when necessary.
• Attend training sessions and meetings to enhance security knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Excellent observation and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of security systems, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid is an asset.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Strong ethical standards and respect for confidentiality.
• Bilingualism is not required but may be advantageous.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
