Job Summary:

Maria Mallaband Care Group is currently seeking skilled and passionate Chefs to join our team in providing delicious and nutritious meals for our residents. As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and prepare nutritious meals, taking into consideration residents’ dietary requirements, preferences, and any special requests.
  2. Ensure the timely and efficient preparation of meals, following established recipes and portion control guidelines.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food supplies, ensuring appropriate stock rotation and minimizing waste.
  4. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  6. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop menus and meal plans that meet residents’ nutritional needs.
  7. Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring their adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  8. Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  9. Assist in the ordering and receiving of food supplies, ensuring accurate documentation and quality control.
  10. Stay updated with current culinary trends and techniques, incorporating them into menu planning and meal preparation.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in a care home, restaurant, or similar setting.
  2. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable.
  3. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary principles, and nutrition.
  4. Understanding of dietary requirements and ability to accommodate special diets.
  5. Excellent culinary skills, with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes from scratch.
  6. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles.
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage a busy kitchen environment.
  8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with kitchen staff and management.
  9. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  10. Creativity and a passion for delivering high-quality meals and exceptional dining experiences.
