Job Summary:

Monsoon Indian Restaurant is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our restaurant’s kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the kitchen. Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices and seasonings.
Support the kitchen staff by ensuring all necessary equipment and utensils are available and in good working condition.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including regular cleaning of surfaces, equipment, and floors.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils promptly and efficiently.
Properly store food items, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene regulations.
Assist in the receiving and storing of deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation of dishes.
Follow recipes and instructions provided by the chefs and kitchen supervisors.
Assist in plating and garnishing dishes, ensuring proper presentation and attention to detail.
Adhere to food safety and handling procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced kitchen setting.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
Passion for Indian cuisine and familiarity with Indian spices and cooking techniques is a plus.
Basic knowledge of food handling and safety practices.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from the kitchen staff.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow in a culinary setting.
