Job Description:

As a WSIA Safety Senior Advisor at Airservices Australia, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. You will be responsible for overseeing the Workers’ Compensation and Safety, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act (WSIA) safety program, including injury management and return-to-work processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. WSIA Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Workers’ Compensation and Safety, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act (WSIA) and related regulations.
  2. Injury Management: Manage and coordinate injury management processes, including timely reporting, investigations, and assessments.
  3. Return-to-Work: Develop and implement return-to-work plans for injured employees, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
  4. WSIA Reporting: Prepare and submit WSIA-related reports and documentation as required.
  5. Safety Training: Provide training and guidance to employees and managers on WSIA compliance and injury management.
  6. Claims Management: Manage workers’ compensation claims and liaise with insurance providers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  7. Safety Policies: Review and update safety policies and procedures to align with WSIA requirements and best practices.
  8. Safety Audits: Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  9. Data Analysis: Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive safety measures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation and Safety, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act (WSIA) and related legislation in Australia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.
