The Role: Welder with Visa Sponsorship
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Welder to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about metalwork, robotics, and maintaining the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Welding Operations
- Interpret welding process specifications and blueprints to execute precise fabrication or repairs.
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment, including robotic production lines.
- Perform tasks such as metal shaping, bending, and straightening using brakes, shears, and hoisting machinery.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CSA, AWS) and client specifications.
- Determine the weldability of materials and troubleshoot defects in collaboration with quality control teams.
Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
- Monitor robotic welding systems, adjusting parameters to optimize performance and safety.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to WorkSafeBC and company safety protocols, including PPE requirements (gloves, masks, protective eyewear).
- Participate in daily safety briefings and report hazards promptly.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with fabricators, engineers, and project managers to meet production deadlines.
- Mentor junior staff and share best practices in welding techniques.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1–2 years in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints and operating welding machinery (MIG, TIG, or robotic systems).
- Language: Fluency in English (verbal/written).
Personal Suitability:
- Punctuality, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
- Strong teamwork and client-focused communication.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certification in welding (e.g., CWB, Red Seal).
- Experience with robotic welding systems or industrial automation.
