Responsibilities:

1. Crop Cultivation:
   • Participate in the planting, cultivating, and caring for vegetable crops according to established farming practices.
   • Monitor plant health, water needs, and soil conditions to optimize growth.
2. Harvesting:
   • Assist with the timely and careful harvesting of vegetables to maintain product quality.
   • Follow harvesting guidelines and sorting procedures to ensure only the best produce is collected.
3. Pest Control and Disease Management:
   • Monitor crops for signs of pests, diseases, or other issues that may affect crop health.
   • Implement pest control and disease management measures as directed by the farm supervisor.
4. Irrigation and Farm Maintenance:
   • Operate irrigation systems to provide adequate water supply to crops.
   • Participate in routine farm maintenance tasks, such as repairing fences and maintaining farm equipment.
5. Quality Control:
   • Adhere to quality control standards, sorting and packing vegetables based on size and quality.
   • Ensure that all harvested produce meets the company’s quality requirements.
6. Health and Safety:
   • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
   • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
7. Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of daily farming activities, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance.
   • Provide reports to the farm supervisor as necessary.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in vegetable farming or agriculture is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
• Team player with the ability to work well with others.
• Willingness to obtain a work visa or possess a valid work visa for employment in Canada.
