Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on water infrastructure, including pipelines, valves, meters, and other related equipment.
- Conduct water quality testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and record water consumption and flow rates, identifying any anomalies or potential issues.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints and concerns related to water supply or quality.
- Carry out meter installations, replacements, and repairs as required.
- Conduct leak detection surveys and implement appropriate measures to minimize water losses.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and perform repairs promptly to restore water services.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as local authorities and contractors, to coordinate water-related activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and water testing results.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe working practices.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Water Technician or in a similar role within the water industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of water systems, including pipelines, valves, meters, and treatment processes.
- Understanding of water quality standards and testing procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve water-related issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document information.
- Proficient in using water-related equipment, tools, and technology.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting and operating equipment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings, depending on operational requirements.
