Job Description
GROUPE UMANICO INC. is seeking a skilled and dedicated pharmacist to join our team in Canada. As a pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients on medication usage and potential side effects, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, following all legal and professional guidelines.
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, ensuring they understand proper dosage, administration, and potential side effects.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient care and medication management.
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for effectiveness and safety, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles, allergies, and relevant medical information.
- Evaluate prescription orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
- Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other staff members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmaceutical research, drug therapies, and regulations.
- Assist in managing inventory, ordering medications, and maintaining proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
- Comply with all legal and ethical standards, including privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory authority.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care principles, drug therapy, and pharmacology.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and maintaining patient records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and technology.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not required.
