Position Overview:

W Doha Hotel & Residences is seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our culinary team as the Pastry Chef. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Your creativity, attention to detail, and leadership skills will contribute to the exceptional culinary experience at W Doha. Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the pastry kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, production, and presentation.
2. Create innovative and visually appealing pastry items, maintaining high standards of taste, quality, and consistency.
3. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure a seamless integration of pastry offerings with the overall menu.
4. Train, supervise, and develop pastry kitchen staff, fostering a positive and creative work environment.
5. Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
6. Manage food costs, portion control, and production schedules to achieve budgetary targets.
7. Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging techniques, and new ingredients, incorporating them into pastry creations.
9. Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage, banquets, and events, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
10. Adhere to brand standards and uphold the reputation of W Doha for culinary excellence.
11. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of pastry kitchen staff.
12. Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to achieve cost and revenue targets.
13. Foster relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality pastry ingredients and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or a related field is preferred.
2. Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Bakery Chef, or in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant is required.
3. Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Demonstrated expertise in creating and executing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
5. Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
6. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
7. In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
8. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations and practices.
9. Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
10. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs.
11. Proficiency in pastry-related software applications and computer systems.
12. Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
13. Knowledge of local market trends, preferences, and regulations is an advantage.
