Responsibilities:

1. Assist patients with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and mobility, while promoting their comfort and maintaining their dignity.
2. Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
3. Assist with patient transfers, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics.
4. Support patients with eating, drinking, and maintaining proper nutrition, considering their dietary requirements and restrictions.
5. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including maintaining infection control measures and following health and safety protocols.
6. Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision and guidance of healthcare professionals, such as wound dressing, administering medication, and collecting specimens.
7. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a caring and empathetic environment.
8. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, providing updates and reporting any concerns or observations.
9. Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
10. Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated on relevant training and attending educational sessions.

Requirements:

1. Prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
2. Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to provide quality care to patients.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
4. Ability to follow instructions, work well within a team, and contribute to a collaborative environment.
5. Knowledge of basic healthcare procedures and practices, including infection control and personal care.
6. Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to the healthcare setting.
7. Reliable and flexible, with the availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
8. Respect for diversity and an understanding of cultural sensitivities in delivering care.
9. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights and privacy.
10. Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and provide references.
