Position Overview:
As a Catering Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events. The Catering Manager plays a crucial role in delivering memorable experiences and maintaining the hotel’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of catering events, including weddings, conferences, banquets, and social gatherings.
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and expectations, ensuring personalized and exceptional service.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create customized menus that align with client preferences, dietary restrictions, and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed event proposals, contracts, and pricing, ensuring accuracy and timely communication to clients.
- Coordinate with internal departments, including sales, food and beverage, audiovisual, and banquets, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Conduct site visits and inspections with clients to showcase event spaces, provide recommendations, and address any logistical considerations.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability, while delivering high-quality experiences.
- Negotiate and liaise with vendors and suppliers to secure necessary equipment, décor, and additional services for events.
- Supervise and train event staff, providing guidance, support, and clear instructions to ensure smooth event operations.
- Monitor and evaluate event performance, gathering client feedback and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event management.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, ensuring compliance and a safe working environment.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues, fostering a reputation for exceptional service and professionalism.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Catering Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is required.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven expertise in event planning, execution, and client relationship management.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage event budgets, pricing, and profitability.
- Creative mindset with the ability to customize menus and event experiences based on client preferences.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications relevant to event management.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per event requirements.
- Knowledge of local vendors, suppliers, and event service providers is an advantage.
- Certification in event management or hospitality-related fields is a plus.
