Job Summary:
As a Bar Assistant at Coast and Country Hotel Collection, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests in the hotel bar. You will be responsible for ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere, serving drinks, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the bar area. Your friendly demeanor and attention to detail will contribute to creating a memorable experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service to all guests in the hotel bar.
- Take drink orders and serve beverages promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and present a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist guests in selecting beverages and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and available for use.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, restocking items as needed and reporting shortages to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of glassware and adherence to responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to guests.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required to stay updated on company policies, procedures, and new offerings.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order taking and drink preparation.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and making change.
- Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktail recipes and drink mixing techniques, is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the hotel’s operational requirements.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
