Job Summary

SNC-Lavalin, a leading global engineering and construction company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team in Canada. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in transporting construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and drive trucks to transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from designated job sites.
2. Adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods.
3. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and report any defects or issues to the appropriate personnel.
4. Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies using appropriate equipment and secure them properly for transportation.
5. Plan and organize delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency.
6. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered.
7. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members to provide updates on delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
8. Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the truck, including regular inspections and maintenance checks.
9. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials if applicable.
10. Comply with all company policies, including those related to health and safety, and report any safety concerns or incidents.

Requirements:

1. Valid Class A or Class B driver’s license with a clean driving record.
2. Minimum of 2years of experience as a truck driver, preferably in the construction or logistics industry.
3. Knowledge of truck maintenance and repair procedures.
4. Ability to read maps, follow GPS directions, and navigate different routes effectively.
5. Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety protocols.
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members and stakeholders.
7. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required.
8. Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and supplies is an asset.
9. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work environments.
10. Willingness to travel to different job sites within Canada as needed.
