Key Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain high-voltage transmission lines to ensure a reliable power supply.
Conduct troubleshooting, fault detection, and necessary repairs on overhead and underground transmission systems.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance to prevent electrical failures and ensure system efficiency.
Climb transmission towers, work from elevated platforms, and operate bucket trucks for aerial work.
Use power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment to perform installations and repairs safely.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings to execute precise installations.
Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure safe and efficient electrical transmission.
Follow strict safety protocols and UK electrical standards to prevent hazards and ensure compliance.
Respond to emergency outages and conduct urgent repairs to restore power promptly.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports and maintenance logs.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

Recognized certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Transmission Line Worker or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of high-voltage (HV) electrical transmission systems.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining electrical test equipment and repair tools.
Experience working with live power lines and ability to perform work at heights confidently.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently.
Familiarity with UK electrical safety regulations and industry standards.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
Good communication skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience working in the UK power sector.
Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent.
Certification in First Aid, Working at Heights, and Electrical Safety.
Knowledge of smart grid technologies and energy-efficient power distribution.
Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as diggers and aerial lifts.
Multi-lingual abilities (not mandatory but considered an asset).
