Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Officer to join our team in Ipswich. The role involves safeguarding premises, monitoring activities, and ensuring a safe environment for all. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches.
• Conduct regular security checks and inspections of premises, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner.
• Operate and monitor surveillance systems (CCTV), recording and reporting suspicious activities.
• Enforce access control measures, verifying identification and logging entries and exits.
• Provide a visible security presence to deter criminal activity and reassure staff and visitors.
• Assist with incident reports, logging observations, and communicating with law enforcement when necessary.
• Conduct bag and vehicle searches when required.
• Ensure fire safety regulations are adhered to and assist with evacuation procedures if necessary.
• Offer customer service and support while maintaining professional decorum at all times.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is an advantage.
• Excellent observational and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and act effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand or patrol for extended periods.
• Attention to detail with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Knowledge of security procedures, access control measures, and emergency response protocols.
• Right to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid certification is a plus.
• Experience using security technology such as biometric systems or advanced CCTV monitoring.
• Conflict resolution training or de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
