Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ health needs, developing personalized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy, adherence to policies and procedures, and appropriate documentation.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status, promptly addressing any changes or concerns.
- Provide skilled nursing interventions, such as wound care, catheterization, and management of medical devices.
- Collaborate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize residents’ care.
- Support residents with activities of daily living, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and independence.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to residents and their families, fostering a compassionate and caring environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing interventions, observations, and residents’ progress.
- Implement infection control measures and maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
- Stay updated on current nursing practices, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse qualification, with a valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a care home or healthcare setting.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and person-centered approach to care, with a genuine commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in demanding situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of advancements in nursing practice.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and basic computer skills.
