Job Description

Vibe Recruit is recruiting Multi Drop Delivery Drivers to join our expanding team in Wallingford. This role is perfect for proactive individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and take pride in ensuring parcels, goods, and essential items reach their destinations safely and on time. You’ll operate company-provided vans or 3.5-tonne vehicles, managing daily routes with up to 50+ stops across Oxfordshire and neighbouring regions.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Route Execution: Safely operate vehicles to complete multi-stop delivery routes, adhering to strict timelines and customer requirements.
• Load Management: Efficiently load/unload parcels (up to 25kg) using trolleys or manual handling techniques, ensuring items are secure and undamaged.
• Customer Interaction: Deliver goods directly to homes or businesses, providing friendly service and obtaining proof of delivery (POD) via handheld scanners or mobile apps.
• Navigation: Use GPS systems and local knowledge to optimise routes, avoiding delays and minimising fuel consumption.
• Vehicle Checks: Conduct pre- and post-journey inspections, reporting mechanical issues and ensuring vehicles are clean and roadworthy.
• Paperwork & Tech: Complete delivery logs, incident reports, and digital manifests accurately using in-cab technology.
• Problem-Solving: Manage failed deliveries (e.g., customer absence) by following client protocols (e.g., safe drop points, return to depot).
• Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations, including manual handling guidelines.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate with dispatchers and warehouse teams to resolve issues and update delivery progress in real-time.
• Flexibility: Adapt to varying shift patterns, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, especially during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas).

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid UK Category B (Car) Driving Licence.
• No major endorsements (e.g., DR, IN, CU) on your driving record.
• Right to work in the UK.

Skills & Experience:

• Prior multi-drop delivery experience (parcels, retail, or e-commerce preferred).
• Physical fitness to lift/carry items repeatedly throughout the day.
• Strong organisational skills to manage high-volume stops efficiently.
• Basic tech proficiency (e.g., using GPS, scanners, or delivery apps).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience with electric vans or eco-friendly delivery practices.
• Familiarity with Oxfordshire’s road networks and parking regulations.
• FORS or DCPC certification (not mandatory but advantageous).
