Job Summary: As a Minibus Driver at Albert Memorial College, you will be responsible for safely transporting students, staff, and visitors to and from designated locations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of transportation services while maintaining a high level of passenger safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safe Transportation: Operate a college-owned minibus, ensuring the safe transportation of students, staff, and visitors to their designated destinations.
2. Passenger Safety: Adhere to all traffic rules, regulations, and college policies to maintain a safe and secure environment for passengers during transit.
3. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular inspections of the minibus, including checking the tires, brakes, lights, and other essential components, reporting any issues promptly.
4. Route Planning: Familiarize yourself with planned routes and schedules, ensuring efficient and timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
5. Passenger Assistance: Provide assistance to passengers, including helping with boarding and alighting, securing personal belongings, and accommodating individuals with special needs.
6. Customer Service: Deliver a high level of customer service, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor towards passengers and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
7. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents or delays that occur during transit.
8. Emergency Preparedness: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and protocols, including evacuation plans and first aid, to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers in case of emergencies.
9. Vehicle Cleanliness: Keep the minibus clean and presentable, both inside and outside, by conducting regular cleaning and reporting any maintenance or cleanliness issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid and clean driver’s license, specifically allowing the operation of a minibus.
• Proven experience as a driver, preferably with experience in passenger transportation.
• Excellent driving skills with a strong emphasis on safety and defensive driving techniques.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and best practices for passenger transportation.
• Friendly and customer-focused attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, such as heavy traffic or adverse weather conditions.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to perform routine checks and identify any potential issues.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to follow instructions, adhere to schedules, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to assist passengers with limited mobility when needed.
