Job Summary:

SUPERMARCHE BOUCHER INC is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Meat Counter Clerk to join our team. As a Meat Counter Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their meat selections, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the meat counter area. Your knowledge of different meat cuts and products, coupled with your excellent interpersonal skills, will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing prompt assistance and answering their inquiries about meat products.
• Offer product recommendations and provide information on cooking methods, cuts, and preparation techniques to help customers make informed choices.
• Weigh, wrap, and label meat products accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with labeling regulations and company standards.
• Display meat products in an attractive and organized manner, regularly replenishing stock to maintain a visually appealing meat counter.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of meat products to maintain freshness and quality.
• Assist customers with special orders, including custom cuts, portion sizes, and packaging requirements.
• Operate meat processing equipment, such as slicers, grinders, and tenderizers, safely and according to established procedures.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the meat counter area.
• Receive and inspect meat deliveries, verifying the quality and quantity of products received.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service throughout the store.
• Maintain product knowledge by staying updated on current meat trends, cuts, and industry developments.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a meat department or as a meat counter clerk is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to assist customers effectively and provide accurate information.
• Attention to detail and the ability to weigh, wrap, and label meat products accurately.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations in a retail environment.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
