Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Acquisition:
    • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, working closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and attract top talent.
    • Develop effective sourcing strategies, manage job postings, and conduct interviews to assess candidates’ suitability.
    • Implement best practices to ensure a diverse and inclusive recruitment process.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
    • Address employee grievances professionally and confidentially, ensuring fair and consistent resolutions.
  3. Training and Development:
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and design appropriate learning and development programs.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements as needed.
  4. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Manage the administration of employee benefits, compensation, and payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Participate in salary benchmarking and recommend competitive compensation packages.
  5. HR Policies and Compliance:
    • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws, data protection, and health and safety regulations.
  6. Performance Management:
    • Implement and monitor the performance appraisal process, providing guidance to managers and employees.
    • Identify areas for performance improvement and support the development of performance improvement plans.
  7. Employee Engagement and Well-being:
    • Foster a positive work culture that promotes employee engagement, job satisfaction, and overall well-being.
    • Organize employee engagement activities and initiatives to enhance team collaboration and morale.
  8. HR Reporting and Analytics:
    • Maintain accurate HR records and generate relevant reports for management review.
    • Utilize HR data to identify trends, suggest improvements, and support decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a senior HR leadership role within the construction or related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and manage multiple priorities.
