• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, conducting regular stock checks and reporting any discrepancies.
• Prepare and pack orders for distribution to various departments within the prison, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Collaborate with other staff members to fulfill requisitions and maintain adequate stock levels to support operational needs.
• Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the stores area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in the management of stock control systems, such as entering data, generating reports, and updating records.
• Adhere to prison policies, procedures, and security protocols to maintain the integrity and security of the stores area.
• Support and participate in regular audits or inspections of the stores area, providing accurate information and documentation as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in stores management or a similar role is preferred.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills to accurately record and maintain stock-related information.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is desirable but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to effectively manage inventory.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and external suppliers.
• Understanding of health and safety practices in a warehouse or stores environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a secure and regulated environment.
• Valid work permit or right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Successful completion of security clearance checks required for working in a prison environment.
