Responsibilities:
- Personal Care:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility and transferring as needed.
- Medication Management:
- Assist with medication administration according to prescribed schedules.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of medication administration.
- Vital Signs Monitoring:
- Monitor and record residents’ vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Report any significant changes to the appropriate medical staff.
- Companionship and Emotional Support:
- Engage in meaningful interactions with residents to promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Meal Assistance:
- Assist residents with eating and drinking, adhering to any dietary restrictions or special needs.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of resident care activities and any significant observations.
- Provide reports to the healthcare team as required.
- Collaborative Care:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care.
Requirements:
- Completed Health Care Assistant training or certification from a recognized institution.
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to provide quality care to seniors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to assist with lifting and mobility tasks.
- Availability to work in Canada with visa sponsorship.
