Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and therapists, in providing direct patient care.
2. Ensuring patients’ comfort and safety by assisting with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and feeding.
3. Monitoring and recording vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
4. Supporting patients with mobility and transferring, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
5. Assisting with patient admission and discharge procedures, including documentation and coordinating transportation.
6. Maintaining a clean and organized environment, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
7. Collecting and processing specimens for laboratory testing, following established protocols.
8. Assisting with medication administration under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
9. Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during challenging times.
10. Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
11. Participating in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a recognized Healthcare Assistant program or relevant certification is preferred.
3. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
8. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients safely.
9. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
10. Proficiency in computer skills for documentation and record keeping.
