Job Summary:
Four Seasons Health Care is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Head Housekeeper. As the Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the housekeeping operations within our care home facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring efficient and effective cleaning services are provided.
- Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and cleaning schedules to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication regarding resident needs and preferences.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to housekeeping staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Oversee the handling and disposal of waste and hazardous materials according to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to address any repair or maintenance issues related to housekeeping.
- Respond promptly and effectively to resident and family requests or concerns related to housekeeping services.
- Maintain records and reports on cleaning schedules, inspections, and staff performance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning services.
- Sound knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and infection control practices.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance within the department.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, families, and staff.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
