Job Summary:
We are currently seeking experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Drivers to join our team in various locations across Canada. As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse or distribution facility. Your expertise and attention to safety will contribute to the efficient and smooth flow of operations, ensuring the timely and accurate movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Load and unload materials from trucks or other transportation vehicles using forklifts.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas within the warehouse or distribution facility.
- Stack and organize products or materials on pallets or in racks to optimize storage space.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts, ensuring proper functioning of all controls and safety features.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement, documenting quantities, locations, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Assist in inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Report any safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Driver or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift operations and safe handling practices.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts and their specific functions.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
- Ability to operate forklifts skillfully, maneuvering in tight spaces and loading/unloading materials safely.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record information.
- Physically fit and capable of performing the physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy loads.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to them.
