As a Feed Truck Driver, you’ll be an essential part of our logistics team, helping ensure animals across our operations receive the nutrition they need on time, every time.
Job Summary: Feed Truck Driver
As a Feed Truck Driver, your primary role will be to transport and deliver animal feed to various farm locations in a timely and efficient manner. This position involves operating modern tandem axle and tri-axle trucks equipped with automated feed delivery systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily delivery of animal feed to Maple Leaf farms across Southern Manitoba
- Completing accurate delivery logs and records using GPS tracking systems
- Inspecting vehicle pre- and post-trip for safety compliance
- Following assigned schedules and transport routes
- Performing routine maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues
- Adhering to all provincial highway safety and company transportation policies
- Maintaining clean and organized truck and equipment
Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants should meet the following:
- Possess a valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
- Clean driver’s abstract and proven safety record
- At least 1–2 years of commercial truck driving experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable working in rural and agricultural environments
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and handling equipment
- Experience in agriculture or feed transport is an asset, but not required
Working Conditions
- Typical shift: 8–12 hours (depending on routes)
- Some early morning departures and weekend work required
- Year-round, full-time employment – not seasonal
- Mostly local/regional deliveries – home every night
- Load/unload with assistance from automated equipment
- Adherence to strict animal welfare and biosecurity protocols
