Job Summary

Starfish Demolition, a leading demolition and excavation company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, to perform a variety of tasks such as excavation, earthmoving, and material handling. Responsibilities:

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and equipment guidelines.
Perform various excavation and earthmoving tasks, including digging trenches, grading surfaces, and backfilling.
Use the excavator to load and unload materials, such as soil, rocks, and debris.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of the excavator to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
Collaborate with the demolition and construction team to coordinate excavation activities based on project requirements.
Adhere to project specifications and blueprints to accurately complete excavation tasks.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations throughout the excavation process.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and task coordination.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Follow established company policies and procedures to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Excavator Operator, preferably in the demolition or construction industry.
Valid certification or license to operate heavy machinery, including an excavator.
In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Ability to interpret project specifications, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Physical stamina to withstand long hours of operating heavy machinery and perform manual labor as required.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on precision to ensure accurate excavation and earthmoving.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions.
Valid work permit or eligibility for Visa Sponsorship to work in Canada.
