Job Summary
Starfish Demolition, a leading demolition and excavation company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, to perform a variety of tasks such as excavation, earthmoving, and material handling. Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and equipment guidelines.
- Perform various excavation and earthmoving tasks, including digging trenches, grading surfaces, and backfilling.
- Use the excavator to load and unload materials, such as soil, rocks, and debris.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of the excavator to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with the demolition and construction team to coordinate excavation activities based on project requirements.
- Adhere to project specifications and blueprints to accurately complete excavation tasks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations throughout the excavation process.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and task coordination.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Follow established company policies and procedures to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator, preferably in the demolition or construction industry.
- Valid certification or license to operate heavy machinery, including an excavator.
- In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret project specifications, blueprints, and other technical documents.
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of operating heavy machinery and perform manual labor as required.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on precision to ensure accurate excavation and earthmoving.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions.
- Valid work permit or eligibility for Visa Sponsorship to work in Canada.
