The Role: Employment Advisor

We’re seeking a compassionate and driven Employment Advisor to join our Ipswich team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping others, with a strong understanding of the local job market and the challenges faced by job seekers. You’ll provide one-on-one support to individuals, helping them overcome barriers and secure sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support

• Conduct one-on-one sessions with job seekers to assess their skills, experience, and career aspirations.
• Develop personalised action plans, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
• Provide ongoing support to help clients overcome barriers to employment (e.g., childcare, transport, confidence issues).

Employer Engagement

• Build relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities and understand their recruitment needs.
• Match job seekers to suitable vacancies, ensuring a good fit for both parties.
• Organise job fairs, employer presentations, and networking events to connect clients with potential employers.

Training & Development

• Identify skills gaps and recommend training programs to enhance clients’ employability.
• Deliver workshops on topics like job search techniques, digital skills, and workplace etiquette.
• Monitor clients’ progress and adjust support plans as needed.

Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes using Seetec’s case management system.
• Prepare reports on client progress, job placements, and service performance.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).

Community Outreach

• Represent Seetec at community events to raise awareness of our services.
• Collaborate with local organisations (e.g., charities, councils) to support vulnerable job seekers.
• Promote Seetec’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in all outreach activities.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience: 1+ years in employment support, recruitment, or a related field.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for building trust with clients and employers.
• Empathy: A genuine passion for helping others and understanding their challenges.
• Organisation: Strong time management and ability to manage a caseload of clients.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Suffolk job market and local employer landscape.
• Certification in career guidance or employability support (e.g., IAG Level 3).
• Multilingual skills to support Ipswich’s diverse community (e.g., Polish, Urdu).
