Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers, provide assistance, and address their inquiries or concerns in a friendly and helpful manner. Strive to exceed customer expectations and provide an exceptional shopping experience.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of the store’s products, including their features, benefits, and pricing. Be prepared to provide accurate and detailed information to customers when required.
- Cash Handling: Process transactions efficiently and accurately, including cash, credit card, and contactless payments. Maintain a high level of integrity when handling money and adhere to cash handling policies and procedures.
- Stock Management: Assist with stock replenishment and ensure products are neatly displayed and well-stocked on the shelves. Monitor product expiration dates and assist with regular stock audits as required.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times. Conduct routine cleaning tasks and assist with organizing shelves and displays.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store targets and objectives. Support other team members when needed, including covering shifts or assisting in different areas of the store.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting and carrying techniques, to ensure the well-being of customers, colleagues, and yourself. Report any hazards or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Training and Development: Participate in training programs and actively seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Stay updated on product information, promotions, and company policies to provide accurate information to customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong customer service focus and a genuine desire to assist customers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic numeracy skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain neat and tidy store displays.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the store’s requirements.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to follow them diligently.
- Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred but not essential.
