Job Description
KOFFI, a family-based household in Canada, is seeking a responsible and caring Child Care Live-in Caregiver to join their home and provide nurturing care for their children. As a live-in caregiver, you will play an essential role in creating a safe and supportive environment for the children, fostering their growth and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and responsible care for the children in a live-in arrangement.
- Ensure the safety and security of the children at all times.
- Create a stimulating and engaging environment by organizing age-appropriate activities, such as educational games, crafts, and outings.
- Assist with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and bedtime routines.
- Support the children’s emotional well-being by offering comfort, reassurance, and a positive role model.
- Collaborate with parents to establish and maintain consistent routines and rules.
- Escort the children to school, extracurricular activities, and appointments as needed.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, considering any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment, including the children’s bedrooms and play areas.
- Perform light household chores, such as laundry, tidying up, and washing dishes related to the children’s care.
- Communicate effectively with the parents, providing regular updates on the children’s progress and any important information.
- Foster a respectful and nurturing relationship with the children, promoting their independence and self-confidence.
- Follow any specific instructions or guidelines provided by the parents regarding the children’s care.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in child care, preferably as a live-in caregiver.
- Genuine love for children and a strong desire to provide a nurturing environment.
- Ability to establish a bond of trust and maintain professional boundaries.
- Flexibility in adapting to the household’s routines and schedules.
- Respect for cultural diversity and openness to working in a multicultural environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred but not mandatory).
