Position Overview:
As a Cafe Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, you will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the cafe. Your leadership and passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences will drive the success of the cafe and contribute to the hotel’s reputation for excellence. The Cafe Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, and scheduling, to ensure efficient and seamless service.
- Train, develop, and motivate cafe staff, fostering a positive and service-oriented culture within the team.
- Monitor and maintain exceptional levels of guest satisfaction, promptly addressing any concerns or feedback.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the cafe, ensuring consistency in service, quality, and presentation.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and update menu offerings, ensuring they align with guest preferences and market trends.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability, taking appropriate actions to achieve targets and control expenses.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and address any issues or opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and best practices, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors, negotiating favorable terms and contracts.
- Plan and execute marketing initiatives and promotions to attract and retain customers, collaborating with the marketing department as necessary.
- Stay abreast of guest preferences, seeking feedback, and implementing changes to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a managerial role within a cafe or food and beverage establishment is required.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional guest service orientation and the ability to handle guest feedback and complaints with tact and professionalism.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
- Proven track record of driving revenue and profitability while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications relevant to cafe management.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per business needs.
