Responsibilities:
- Crop Cultivation:
- Participate in planting, pruning, and caring for fruit crops according to established farming practices.
- Monitor crop health, water needs, and soil conditions to optimize growth.
- Harvesting:
- Assist with the efficient and careful harvesting of fruits to maintain product quality.
- Adhere to harvesting schedules and procedures to ensure optimal fruit ripeness.
- Pest Control and Disease Management:
- Monitor crops regularly for signs of pests, diseases, or other issues that may affect crop health.
- Implement pest control and disease management measures as directed by the farm supervisor.
- Irrigation and Farm Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems to provide adequate water supply to fruit crops.
- Participate in routine farm maintenance tasks, such as repairing fences and maintaining farm equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Follow quality control guidelines to ensure only the best-quality fruits are harvested and packaged for sale.
- Sort and pack fruits based on size and quality standards.
- Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to create a safe working environment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of daily farm activities, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance.
- Provide reports to the farm supervisor as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in fruit farming or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for the quality of the harvested fruits.
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and some holidays as per the farm’s schedule.
- Availability to work in Canada with visa sponsorship.
