Job Description
Pure Staff Ltd is seeking Class 1 HGV Drivers to join our dynamic team in Droitwich. As a key player in our logistics network, you’ll handle a variety of assignments, from local deliveries to national routes, ensuring clients’ supply chains operate seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Vehicle Operations: Safely operate Class 1 vehicles (articulated lorries) for goods transportation, adhering to assigned schedules.
- Pre-Journey Checks: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, ensuring mechanical soundness, load security, and compliance with safety standards.
- Loading/Unloading: Oversee or assist with loading/unloading cargo, using appropriate equipment (e.g., tail lifts, forklifts) while adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Route Planning: Optimize delivery routes using GPS and local knowledge to meet deadlines and avoid delays.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to EU Drivers’ Hours regulations, maintain accurate digital tachograph records, and complete mandatory Driver CPC training.
- Documentation: Manage delivery paperwork, including consignment notes, PODs, and defect reports, ensuring timely submission.
- Communication: Liaise with transport offices, clients, and warehouse teams via hands-free devices to report progress or issues.
- Safety Advocacy: Promote a safety-first culture by following traffic laws, conducting risk assessments, and reporting incidents promptly.
- Vehicle Care: Perform basic maintenance (e.g., refueling, cleaning) and report defects to ensure fleet reliability.
- Customer Service: Represent Pure Staff professionally during client interactions, resolving issues courteously.
- Flexibility: Work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet client demands.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Up-to-date Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card proficiency.
- Strong understanding of UK/EU driving regulations.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements (e.g., DD, DR, UT).
- Physical fitness for manual handling and vehicle checks.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Basic IT skills for electronic PODs and tachograph management.
Preferred Attributes:
- ADR certification for hazardous goods.
- Experience with curtain-sided vehicles, flatbeds, or refrigerated units.
- Familiarity with Droitwich and Midlands/West Midlands routes.
