Position Overview:
W Doha Hotel & Residences is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Kitchen Manager. As the Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel’s kitchen operations. Your leadership, culinary expertise, and organizational skills will ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and profitability. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall operations of the kitchen, including planning, production, and service.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menus, ensuring high-quality cuisine and creative presentation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing development opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to standardized recipes, portion control, and food preparation procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
- Monitor and control food costs, including inventory management, wastage reduction, and budget control.
- Oversee food purchasing and vendor relationships, ensuring the availability of high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce food safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage, banquets, and events, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Stay updated on culinary trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, implementing relevant changes and improvements.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of kitchen staff.
- Analyze kitchen financial reports, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to achieve cost and revenue targets.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, or in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant is required.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven track record of successfully managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction.
- Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data, forecast budgets, and control costs.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in culinary techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
- Knowledge of local market trends, preferences, and regulations is an advantage.
